Originally from northern New Jersey, Mikaela Lewis is a candidate for a Master of Science in Healthcare Policy and Management at the Heinz College of Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She graduated in May 2018 with her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and Psychology, also from Carnegie Mellon University. Over the summer of 2018, she worked at TeleTracking Technologies, Inc. in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as a Product Management Analytics Intern. She worked with directors and vice presidents in the company to define requirements and create mockups for a new product. At TeleTracking, Mikaela also worked to improve her agile project management skills by shadowing a product owner and scrum master.
She also has experience in psychological and biological research, including how cystic fibrosis can develop antibiotic resistance in the lungs of elderly patients. In the future, Mikaela hopes to use her background of natural science, social science, and management in a healthcare administration role. Her goal is to assure that technological innovations and advances are focused around providing the best care for patients.
